How to create a QR code for any link

Create a QR code for any link in linkembed, works for embed and redirect links. Download a print-ready PNG, with your logo in the center if you want it.

You need a QR code for a link poster, flyer, booth sign, or packaging. In linkembed you generate it from the same place you copy the public URL, so the code always matches the live link (embed or redirect).

Create a QR code for a link in the dashboard

  1. Go to Links and find the item you want.
  2. Click Share to open the share module (works for embed and redirect links).
  3. Review the QR preview. It encodes the exact public URL for that link, including folder path and domain.
  4. Click Download PNG to save a high-resolution file for print or digital screens.
  5. Scan once yourself before you print a large run.
Same place you copy the link, you grab the QR

Scan once before a big print run. Optional logo sits in the center when branding is on.

More detail lives under QR code and social links in the docs.

Logo in the middle

If your workspace has a branding logo, you can toggle Include logo before download. On: the logo sits in the center of the code. Off: plain QR. With no logo uploaded, the toggle stays disabled.

Social copy and UTM tracking

The same module offers one-tap copy for major networks. Each copies your link with utm_source set to the platform and utm_medium=social, which keeps UTM tracking tidy in analytics tools. For campaign-level control on redirect links, read how to track link clicks with UTM parameters.

FAQ

Q: Does the QR code point to my custom domain?

A: If the link is published on a custom domain, yes. Otherwise it points at your linkembed.io workspace URL. Custom domains require a paid tier that includes them (pricing).

Q: Can I regenerate after I change the slug?

A: Yes, but old printed codes keep the old destination until you reprint. Treat slug changes like any other URL change.

Q: Is the file really print-ready?

A: The doc describes a high-resolution PNG suitable for print and digital; still test at the size you plan to ship.

Q: Do QR scans count in linkembed Analytics?

A: A scan is just another way to open the URL. If your plan includes analytics, those visits can appear like other views or redirects depending on link type.

Q: What if I only need the link text, not a QR?

A: Use Share to copy the plain URL or a platform-specific variant without downloading the PNG.

Free includes the Share panel and QR download for the links your plan allows. Custom domains for branded URLs need Creator or higher (pricing).
